Get Further Away! Quite simply, Jackson Hole is legendary.
It is a mountain that could stand alone with stats and figures that
dwarf other mountains, but Jackson Hole is much, much more. With a
deeply rich history, a rugged western culture, and a hometown warmth
that welcomes new and returning visitors year after year, Jackson Hole
stands tall as one of the country's premier mountain resort destinations.
Come see for yourself! Try to decide if it's the abundant snow and endless
terrain, or nightlife that ranges from historic saloons, to exquisite
cuisine prepared by world reknown chefs. Maybe its having all of the
comforts of home combined with a Vertical rise of 4,139 feet
(greatest continuous rise in U.S.) right out your door, or
being pampered in any number of 5-star resort hotels. It could be
the incredible kids programs or the hypnotic views of the majestic
Teton range. What ever it is, you can be sure that you won't want to
leave and that Jackson Hole will be on your 'short list' of favorite destinations.
New East Ridge Chair If you were worried that the closing of Jackson
Hole's historic tram meant difficult or limited access to the summit, Fear no more!
With the instalation of the new East Ridge summit lift, access to Jackson Hole's
legendary steeps, bowls, and couliors will be easier and more reliable than ever!
The new East Ridge Chair, with will also allow continued access to Jackson Hole's
back-country gates will take skiers and riders from the top of Sublette to the
top of Rendezvous Bowl.
New Tram Announced Still, for those of you Tram Junkies out there,
you'll be pleased to know that Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is building a new tram
for the 2008/09 season! It'll be a full two-year, $25 million construction project
starting next spring/summer, but it'll be well worth the wait. Bigger and badder
(and redder? more red?) than the recently-retired tram, it'll whisk 100 lucky
souls to the top of Rendezvous in about 10 minutes. The new design will not only
carry more passengers than the old 60 passenger cars, but word has it that a
sleeker, lower profile will make the tram operations less susceptible to wind/weather
related closures. Until then, come join us on the new East Ridge chair as we rip and
ride some of the most amazing terrain in the world!
